details
The main official salary benchmark in Argentina is RIPTE: the average taxable salary of employees whom the employer has declared continuously for the last 13 months, in the private and public sectors. It is calculated from employers' declarations in the SIPA system. July 2026: ARS 1,946,028 a month; January 2026: ARS 1,646,344. Caveats: this is the amount before deductions, and take-home pay is lower by the employee's contributions; it is an average, not a median, so high salaries pull it up; informal workers and the self-employed are not included, so the average across all working people is lower. The authors themselves warn that RIPTE is an indicator for pension calculations and shows wage growth imprecisely. It is published with a delay of up to 45 days. The minimum wage (SMVM) under Resolución 4/2026: from 1 September 2026, ARS 383,800; from 1 October, ARS 391,200; it then rises every month to ARS 437,000 in April 2027. There is a gas network in Trevelin, and connection requests have been accepted again since January 2026. Electricity and water are supplied by the 16 de Octubre cooperative, which has its own office in Trevelin.

details
Gas: since 5 January 2026 Camuzzi has again been issuing permits (factibilidades) for connection to piped gas in the Cordillera; Trevelin is named among the 14 Chubut communities on this list. The procedure: a licensed gas fitter makes the design and internal piping, then a Camuzzi inspection is ordered, and only after that is the meter installed. Piped gas appeared in Trevelin long ago, but district by district: in August 2018 the network was opened in the barrio 30 Viviendas (30 houses), and another 120 plots were planned. Outside the built-up area there may be no gas; check the address before renting or buying. Reliability: on 2 July 2025 Camuzzi began restoring supply in Trevelin after a failure in the Cordillerano Patagónico system, so for winter it is sensible to have backup heating (firewood or cylinders). Electricity and water: the 16 de Octubre cooperative provides water, electricity, sewerage and street lighting in Esquel and Trevelin; Trevelin has its own office (Perito Moreno 150) and separate round-the-clock emergency lines for electricity and for water. The cooperative's tariff table is on its website as a PDF; we did not open it, so we do not give prices per kilowatt-hour or for water. We do not calculate the gas tariff either: the total depends on the subzone, category and benefits, and you need the last 12 bills for the specific house.

details
Naturalisation on the ordinary basis is available after 2 years of continuous and lawful residence immediately before applying (Ley 346, art. 2). The 2025 reform (DNU 366/2025, art. 37) added that continuity means not a single trip abroad during the whole period, and moved the granting of citizenship from federal judges to the migration service. In 2026 courts declared this part of the reform invalid: the Civil and Commercial Chamber on 18.06.2026 (Volosh case), the National Electoral Chamber on 30.06.2026 (Yang case), and the federal court of Esquel on 26.08.2026 (articles 4, 37 and 39 of the decree). Citizenship applications are again heard by federal judges, and the previous wording of the law contains no direct ban on trips abroad. The government announced it will appeal to the Supreme Court; as of 04.10.2026 we found no Supreme Court decision, so which rule on trips abroad will stand is still unknown.

The same site speaks of daily flights, but this is not true all year round: the aviation blog Sir Chandler (29 May 2026), citing locals, writes that in summer flights are daily, sometimes two a day, while in May there were noticeably fewer, and a ticket to Esquel, because of the low frequency, can cost more than twice as much as to Bariloche (passenger complaints). The same post retells an Aerolíneas Argentinas announcement: a Córdoba – Esquel flight on Thursdays and back on Mondays, August–September 2026, possibly until October, with the province of Chubut guaranteeing occupancy. We do not record the exact number of flights per week: these are the blog author's words, not a timetable. Timetables and prices are on the Aerolíneas Argentinas site. Taking into account the trip from Trevelin to the airport (about 45 km), allow a time margin, especially in winter.

details
Fixed internet penetration for Q1 2026: Chubut – 87, Neuquén – 93, Río Negro – 82 connections per 100 households. These are provincial figures: they do not guarantee rural coverage, and a house must be checked by address.
The weak point is electricity: without a UPS or a generator, internet and water disappear with the power. A scheme: fibre, Starlink on a separate WAN, mobile coverage from a second operator.

details
The main point of failure for remote work outside the city is not the provider but electricity: if the ONT, router, Starlink and the pump all sit on one supply without a UPS or generator, then when the power goes out, internet and water disappear at once. A working scheme is fibre as the main channel, Starlink on a separate WAN, and a second operator's mobile connection as a third channel.
