The ASSE state hospital and the Mautone sanatorium are in the neighbouring city of Maldonado. In Punta del Este itself, on Roosevelt, parada 13, is the head office of the private mutualista Asistencial.

About 15 km to Bariloche along RN 237 and RN 40. Bariloche airport is about 9 km south in a straight line. In August 2026 RN 23 to the east was closed because of snow; chains are required.

Piped gas

Since 5 January 2026 Camuzzi has accepted connection requests in Dina Huapi. In 2022 the Ñirihuau district was still without piped gas, and a gas pipeline was being built there. I did not find prices per m³.

Electricity: the CEB cooperative tariff

Electricity is supplied by the CEB cooperative, shared with Bariloche. At 300 kWh a month under the September–October 2026 tariff: ARS 94,886 with subsidy and ARS 115,451 without, before taxes.

Water: now and the new system

At present the water is only chlorinated, with no filtration. In April 2026 a contract was signed for a new system drawing from Lake Nahuel Huapi, about ARS 6 billion, with a CAF loan.

The UTE tariff is uniform: 300 kWh comes to about 2,940 pesos, 600 kWh about 5,470. In apartments, gastos comunes come on top: from 13k pesos to 1,400 dollars.

We did not find network gas in Punta del Este: the distributors Montevideo Gas and Conecta do not list Maldonado. Refilling a 13 kg cylinder costs about 1,216 pesos.
