details
INDEC series for the Pampas region (as published by IPEC Santa Fe): the basic food basket (Canasta Básica Alimentaria, the extreme poverty line) in June 2026 was ARS 219,465.16 per adult equivalent; in June 2025 it was ARS 160,813.56, that is, up 36.5% in a year. For a family of four (a man of 35, a woman of 31, children of 6 and 8) INDEC counts 3.09 adult equivalents: 219,465.16 × 3.09 = about ARS 678,147 a month (our multiplication). This is the minimum for food by calorie and protein norms, not a real supermarket bill: household goods, cafés and delivery are not included. The measurement covers the region as a whole; Rosario has the same figure. The regional series comes out every six months; we did not find July and August values for the region.

For comparison, the same family in Greater Buenos Aires in June needs ARS 1,564,716, so the Pampas region is about 4% cheaper. Rent is not included in the basket; with the median two-bedroom rent in Córdoba by our count (ARS 790k in Centro to 1 million in Nueva Córdoba) it comes to about ARS 2.3–2.5 million a month, that is 1,510–1,650 dollars. This is the poverty line, not a middle-class budget. The regional series comes out every six months; we did not find anything newer than June for the region.

OfficialRIPTE - average taxable wage of stable salaried workers, monthly series · 1 Oct 2026
details
The main official salary benchmark in Argentina is RIPTE: the average taxable salary of employees whom the employer has declared continuously for the last 13 months, in the private and public sectors. It is calculated from employers' declarations in the SIPA system. July 2026: ARS 1,946,028 a month; January 2026: ARS 1,646,344. Caveats: this is the amount before deductions, and take-home pay is lower by the employee's contributions; it is an average, not a median, so high salaries pull it up; informal workers and the self-employed are not included, so the average across all working people is lower. The authors themselves warn that RIPTE is an indicator for pension calculations and shows wage growth imprecisely. It is published with a delay of up to 45 days. The minimum wage (SMVM) under Resolución 4/2026: from 1 September 2026, ARS 383,800; from 1 October, ARS 391,200; it then rises every month to ARS 437,000 in April 2027. The RIPTE average is roughly 5 times the minimum wage. In dollars at the atlas's blue rate for September 2026 (ARS 1,545): the average is about 1,260, the minimum wage about 253.

details
EPEC tariff schedule, in force from 1 October 2026, published 29 September 2026. Tariff T1 Residencial without the state discount (sin SEF); the category depends on monthly consumption: up to 120 kWh, fixed charge (CFM) 2,123.28 pesos and 219.88 pesos per kWh; from 121 to 500 kWh, 2,948.61 pesos, the first 120 kWh at 250.30482 and the rest at 300.99460; from 501 to 700, 4,284.81 pesos, 281.29 and 333.94; above 700, 4,284.81 pesos, 306.08 and 365.69. With the SEF discount for the 121–500 kWh category: 2,614.42 pesos, 166.79 for the first 120 kWh, 211.73 for the next 30 and 282.66 beyond. Example for 300 kWh a month without the discount: 2,948.61 + 120 × 250.30 + 180 × 300.99 = about 87,160 pesos a month; this is our arithmetic from the tariff, not anyone's real bill. The document does not say whether IVA and other taxes are included, so the real bill is probably higher. EPEC changes the tariff every month under an indexation formula, so current rates should be checked against the latest document. About 57 dollars at the BCRA rate of 1,520 pesos.

ENReGE table, in force from 1 September 2026, Distribuidora de Gas del Centro (the Ecogas brand), Córdoba subzone, full tariff “Plenas” without the state SEF discount. The price per cubic metre is the same for categories R1–R3, 329.29 pesos (of which the gas price is 222.28, transport 96.75, retained gas 9.31 and 0.95 other); the fixed charge rises with annual consumption: R1, 4,799.70 pesos; R2 1°, 10,100.09; R2 2°, 12,609.46; R2 3°, 15,526.93; R3 1°, 19,222.52; R3 2°, 23,457.72; R3 3°, 27,977.58; R3 4°, 37,041.03; R4 has 43,970.03 and 414.15 pesos per m³. The annual consumption thresholds for the categories are set by ENARGAS resolution I-4343/17; we did not check them for Gas del Centro (the document did not open from our network). Example for an R1 household: 30 m³ in summer, 4,799.70 + 30 × 329.29 = about 14,680 pesos; 100 m³ in winter with gas heating, about 37,730 pesos (25 dollars at the BCRA rate of 1,520). Taxes are not shown in the table, so the real bill is higher; we treat the fixed charge as monthly, as in the same regulator's table for Metrogas. As of 6 October 2026 the regulator had not yet posted the tables from 1 October, so the figures may already have risen. This is arithmetic from the published tariff, not anyone's real bill.

OfficialLey 346 on citizenship, current version · 4 Oct 2026
details
Naturalisation on the ordinary basis is available after 2 years of continuous and lawful residence immediately before applying (Ley 346, art. 2). The 2025 reform (DNU 366/2025, art. 37) added that continuity means not a single trip abroad during the whole period, and moved the granting of citizenship from federal judges to the migration service. In 2026 courts declared this part of the reform invalid: the Civil and Commercial Chamber on 18.06.2026 (Volosh case), the National Electoral Chamber on 30.06.2026 (Yang case), and the federal court of Esquel on 26.08.2026 (articles 4, 37 and 39 of the decree). Citizenship applications are again heard by federal judges, and the previous wording of the law contains no direct ban on trips abroad. The government announced it will appeal to the Supreme Court; as of 04.10.2026 we found no Supreme Court decision, so which rule on trips abroad will stand is still unknown.

According to them, you can apply through a lawyer in two ways: either after 2 years of continuous presence in the country under any status, provided you are legal at the time of filing; or after 2 years with a DNI, in which case justified trips abroad are acceptable, up to 30% of the time is mentioned. In practice it takes longer than 2 years: the lawyer takes the case to court, and there can be a refusal and an appeal.
